Zygo teapot

Drinking tea is a special time. Unlike coffee, where things are rushed at a breakneck speed, drinking tea is a time of introspection, and meditation. It is personal, spiritual and ceremonial. The Zygo teapot draws on these qualities to enhance the tea experience. The delicate yet sturdy ceramic frame embraces the stainless steel sphere in an engaging juxtaposition of form, surface, and material.

The metal ball inside the ceramic looks pretty cool, but it seems like you threw a white pretzel on it, stwisted it and made it look like a teapot. Seriously redesign the ceramic part and I might take it.

tea is uncomplicated and tranquil to me…. and this seems so busy. I wonder if you could just keep the metal ball. It would be much more zen.

I like it, I think it looks like flowing running liquid.

I cant see any joins but I am guessing the base is a separate stand? It could be improved by making it 2 pieces that separate but I think its a very inventive idea.

    Designed for Kingon tea

it seems like it does detach from the base, the handle seems split from the rest of the frame at both ends but bonded to the sphere. also, it looks like theres a cup attached to the base in which the sphere fits, thats why it won’t roll.

ho hum….still wouldn’t want it, tea is simple…

    Dear shaun,
I don’t understand how a design in ceramics rolls out of a computer. that’s why there are unsolved and unnessecary seams and breaklines in your design that makes this teapot everything but “zen”.

I’d suggest finding a group of people in the target audience and asking their opinion.

it looks like a transformer. does it turn into a car that can take you to the store to get more tea?
