With is an emotional communication device for family members who live separately. This device is designed to enhance communication between them over an Internet connection. While existing technology already enhances the connections between people, there is still a need for a new emotional communication device to convey emotional qualities. Present multi-functional communication devices are complicated and uncomfortable for some people, such as seniors, children, and disabled people ?– those who cannot control the devices and their complex user interfaces. Existing devices are also likely to require active participation, so it is really hard to promote their use for the people mentioned above. The objective of With is to respond to growing need for a new, human-oriented communication device that conveys emotional qualities and solidifies people?’s relationships by sharing their emotions.

Cool idea. I’m currently exploring emotional communication for couples living at a distance for my graduate thesis project so this is interesting to me. Could you talk more about how you envision the buttons being used? I like that they appear to be interchangable. i think you need to explain what it does, not just its purpose..
I donno. . . There’s something to the challenge of learning how to express your emotions using WORDS. Not, um, a pillow with a screen on it.
I like the design! and I think the pillow function is actually nice because a notebook is not that practical. only I do’nt like webcam conversations because it is not possible to look eachother in the eye. It doensnt get close to a real conversation because your non-verbal communication is heavily disturbed. That is what the big problem is! beleave me! I can know because I am in a distand relation because of an internship. It is the next best thing though. If you really want to make it beter makesomthing that allows you to look the other in the eye. If you fix that problem you are my personal heroe.
I do think seniors can have a lot of fun with this one!!
