We should be installing vertical wind turbines on every high power transmission tower across the country. The infrastructure is already there. I would imagine that if you already look out your window and see an ugly tower, seeing one with a low noise volume wind turbine isn’t going to be that big of a deal and it will reduce our energy costs.

There’s quite a science to the placement of wind turbines, in order to get the most from them.
If you simply just put them on every transmission tower, some might work well while others don’t.
Transmission towers are designed to take certain loads for a limited life span. Although there would be some factor of safety built into the tower, placing a wind turbine would reduce that factor of safety.
What we should be doing is investing more in engineers so they can design better energy systems.
