A mutation between a protective barrier for a tree and seating. An opportunity for passers-by to rest a while.

I like that a lot! It adds some really cool detail to cities like Paris where there are a lot of protective barriers but also where you are required to do a lot of walking. A little rest from time to time would be nice!
After looking at that, I find wooden benches very appealing. Most people don’t enjoy sitting on strips of metal longer than they have to.
@xander
that is not true. I was sitting on a metal bench today and was quite comfortable.
…however the slates were closer together than those in the picture.
The problem with this idea is that if you look on the floor near the trees in big cities (for example in Paris as it’s where I live), you’ll see it covered with pigeons
*s.
It would be very dangerous for your hairs and your clothes to sit without protection under a tree. :)
@Davel_x: good point!
I also figure out that it can be quite hard to remove the fallen leafs form under the seat during autumn…
but I really love the idea (even if it is not 100% practical), it looks so good and integrated in the urban environment.
And the photo is simply beautiful.
i love how if those were in a park and they were all painted different colours it would add such a whimisical touch to steel benches.
I thinks it’s aestethic, definitely, but yep, that’s where dogs piss and pigeons
*.
From now trees are not just for dogs, we can do it there too…
Kidding… I voted for it! GREAT!
i like it
the squirrels, they will attack!!!
I love it. But the only thing that concerns me is when the tree grows, with the chair expand?
Oh wow… The tree stool is definitely a great idea. Don’t know about the yellow looks kinda flashy and bright. I would go with something more subtle and market it to city parks and such.
