well if i sat my fatass on that thing all those pencils would snap in half, springs or not.

You would probably break the bench’s legs before you broke the pencils. Each pencil is an extremely strong shape and material, especially if it’s just being compressed along it’s length. You might break them if you bent a pencil in half, but you probably couldn’t smash one.
