Okids Phone

kidsphoneddd_nsk072.jpg

This product targets kids aged 5-6 years as the main customers.
Given that kids purchase products with the help of their parents, this product has been developed targeting kids as a second consumer market.
Since children should be protected from any danger, a pill shape and a heart design are combined to represent our love for children. With the motif of protection and love.

    I like the shape transformation.

  3. free says:

    very nice!
one point of criticism, even with the best intensions it is hard to believe in the practical chance of succes with only 4 numbers, and no possibility for textmessaging.

I know it is not really the point of the concept, but still. the rest is beautifully done.

  4. rachel says:

I am an adult and I WANT IT! Would want it more if it could play mp3s and came in some different colors (as long as it isn’t huge).

reminds me tht necklace appeared in the movie “the illusionist”…

  6. Dexter_gao says:

    I like this cute design.
However the shape may be dangerous to kids when be rotated 90 degrees.

  7. iynque says:

Pointy with breakable moving parts = bad for kids.

….and without those, these already exist. Cell phones for kids that can only call pre-programmed numbers (parents, emergency, etc.) have been around for a while, I think.

  8. Dave says:

The limited numbers & icon buttons make this ideal for young children, as a quickdial can be programmed in by a parent. 1:Home 2:Mum’s Mobile 3:Nan 4:My Friend Tim. I think that’s the idea anyhow.

A concern for that age group would be the sharpness of the base of the heart… but hey, Lego & Transformers have lots of hard edges.

  9. Mitrofan says:

    genious!

  10. Patrick says:

I want it for my kids. It’s a NEED for modern parent I guess. Hope to see this phone out in the market ASAP.

  11. Polina says:

I’m a bit doubtful that many 5-6 year old BOYS will find it appealing given its shape. But I might be completely wrong, a survey would be needed to make sure the phone has maximum potential on the market. Also other shape transformations could be considered.

  12. Mike H says:

I would consider a redesign with the 5 large programmable buttons being main focus. Skip the transform as it complicates this unnecessarily for the kids. You may or may not even need the digital readout. It would come in handy for programming in the numbers. Anything you can get rid of would be a plus. Kid’s phone, 5 numbers.

  13. very good, very simple.. the shape is original, but exist various other at the market

  14. DB says:

With so few buttons, why not just put the game control on the same side? Then it won’t need to transform into a heart in order to play games, and thus eliminate that pointed piece and any type of breaking hazard. I’m pretty sure a 5 year old would be able to handle all those buttons on one side (and they’d certainly recognize a game control arrow pad).

  15. carioca says:

Cute and minimalist design, ideal for kids.

  16. Euan says:

If I had child of 4 or 5 I wouldn’t buy one of these, I couldn’t think of a situation where my child would need to use it to get hold of me if I wasn’t there. In a day care or kindergarten they would have a phone the caregiver would use, I could only see the child causing a miss communication between the minder and the parent.

Looks like a toy, cute. How much is it?
