    It looks cool and the fact that I can use my lamp shades and the lamps I already have are huge advantages. Great idea!

    Apart from the lack of brightness, LED technology cant yet be considered an equivalent to tungsten. and then there is the colour temperature and colour rendition wont be as warm and the same as a glowing filament. only recently there has been the first decent LED down light within the professional lighting market. Perhaps in time though…

    Don’t these generally require some kind of bulky transformer? Doesn’t look like this design has one anywhere… Maybe there’s a smaller version though.

    I do agree with Steve: The brightness and color of LED lights leave something to be desired.

    I like the concept. Bit of tweaking/technology and materials becoming available makes this a viable concept for a wider market. Several LEDS in the same Light Bulb, rings of LEDs in the same light bulb with frosted outer material? After all, LEDs are extremely efficient and nicely understood to be so in the wider market now. Good concept, well done.
