A transparent plastic shelf with space for an ivy plant to grow.
Illustrations of flowers, leaves and vines have for many years been used as decoration on everyday objects. This Ivy Shelf takes that idea back to its source. A real ivy plant grows inside a transparent shelf. The ivy takes on the role of decoration while happily living inside the “green house”

    Is that a real plant?

I don’t know if ivy can climb a smooth plastic surface like that, but it’s still a cool idea. Maybe the plant would have to be started and then the vines could be placed inside? Maybe just some texture on the sides for the vines to climb?

…and yeah, how would you water it?

Also, the pot you used and the way the post is contained is a bit… ugly.

Perhaps you could just widen the space at the base and put the dirt in there. That way you would get clean lines and a clear view of root growth as well.

    Well done ;)

Just make the lower portion trapdoor or pour-thru-grate accessible.

Thanks for enclosing nature in plastic. Do you also have a baby seal jail in the corner of your living room?
