eyespeak

eyespeak is a small set of speakers designed to minimize the use of cables and be fun.
Self powered and stereo in one unit just plug them through USB and it’s done.

This is a very cleaver idea, in fact such a cleaver idea you would wonder why no one else is producing them. The main issue is getting sound from a computer, and usually this means a sound card.

But what you could do is have one cable, but split the cable at the computer end to two plugs. USB for 5VDC power to drive the speakers and a standard 3mm male jack plug for the sound. At the speaker end you might be able to keep the single USB plug, because you might be able to share a common ground. Although the limiting current a USB can draw is 1Amp so the speakers wouldn’t be all that powerful.

USB Cant supply 1A, 500mA if your lucky and have nothing else connected.

500mA might just pass for a set of headphones but not for speakers

Daft idea if you ask me
