Luxurious dining in contemporary consumer society
The etiquette set is a complete, packaged dining kit including instructions which allows the user to enjoy an ? la Russe dining experience in any context, regardless of class or wealth.
It combines the semiotics of a plastic Airfix model kit with the implied luxury of an ? la Russe table setting, using what is essentially wastage from the mould to structure the pieces in the correct position.
The set retains the detailing, form and visual language of the ornate silver cutlery and ceramic plate, and forces these values into the context of mass production and contemporary consumer culture through manufacture, material choice, packaging and method of use and disposal.
The design and realization of this product is intended to comment on the loss of tradition, heritage and craftsmanship evident in the consumer culture of which we are part, and to question how and why we assign value to the different objects that surround us.

The idea is cool. The description sounds like art school bs.
This is so cool.
I really like it.
!!!
Someones been reading postmodern theory…
very cool
Well done. You get an A+.
And that’s all.
Love the concept, very strong. I dug it but can’t support it because of too much plastic waste. Keep making cool things!
so coool! i like this!!
When you brake off the implements, you’ll get a sharp bit off injection runner sticking out of the handle. This could become rather uncomfortable. The runners will have to go to the neck of the implement so you don’t cut your hands or inside of your mouth. In the world of injection molding, usually it’s a good idea to lay out the die so the length of the runners is kept to a minimum. But anything is possible these days.
Yet anther use for petroleum…
Made me lawl. But it is a great idea, I must admit.
That’s……classy
I´m sorry, but this concept was explored several times before…
Jason Amendolara did it first for World Wide Fred, then a girl called Demelza Hills got “inspired” by it and did it again.
Now you´re doing the same design for the third time…Sorry.
