Ceramic for Mix

The included ceramic ball replaces a traditional spoon to mix milk and sugar into hot beverages such as tea and coffee. The bottom of the clear glass is indented to hold the ball when it is not in motion.

    now thats interesting.

Saw a finalized version of this on a tech website. as a ball of metal that could be heated or cooled befor put in depending on your drink.

  3. Joel Joel Says:

Ah, but what about when you are almost done with the drink and there’s still some stuck in the rim at the bottom?

  4. ratemus ratemus Says:

you could make a shelf along side near the bottom of stainless steel with holes in it that would trap the ball when drinking and also allow the beverage to come out

  5. Shadus Shadus Says:

Interesting idea, but swirling a drink is a spilling hazard too… think the spoon is a better idea really.

It’s harder to choke on a spoon.

Disclaimer: “Not to be used with alcoholic beverages!”

They should make the ball attached to some sort of string thing or else SOMEONE would choke on it. Also maybe a different design, i dont think that a ball would really stir my drink very well. Good idea tho.

  8. Bob Bob Says:

Maybe if there was a string type thing attached to the ball, otherwise SOMEONE would choke on it. Also i dont see the ball design really stirring my drink very well, maybe if it was a small fan looking thing. lol i wish i could describe my ideas a lil better than that.

How about a new revolutionar design. Not Bob’s ball with strings, mnot ceramic balls, not metal balls. How about a cup with NO BALLS and it comes with a spoon? If you choke on that, you need help. Physically AND mentally.

What would make sense is if it came with spherical sugar cubes. It would dissolve as it was stirring the drink.

  11. LisaJay LisaJay Says:

Of course, if they were spherical, they would not be cubes .

Sorry, just being a smartass :)

Just worried about spilling, it still has an opening on top…

Wouldn’t the ceramic scratch the glass at the bottom? Also, I would worry more about the ‘ceramic on glass’ effect. If the ceramic strikes the glass just the wrong way, it’ll shatter. (ever hit a piece of glass with a broken spark plug?) Maybe another material can be used that is softer. possibly lathed, polished stones, so that it doesn’t mark the glass, and it’s slightly lighter, so that it can be put in afterward (optionally, so that it doesn’t sink quickly to the bottom. I haven’t a clue what material, though.

To solve the issue of ‘the last drop’ it might be possible to use a fat, squished sphere, disc shape instead. With this ‘disc’, the lip holding it in would have to be larger to accommodate, allowing for a connection to be made from the bottom edge to the top part of the glass. You may have to make the lip fairly sharp.

I’ve got nothing when it comes to potential spilling when swirling the glass. maybe have a fill line marked in the glass…. hey! this could make an awesome, self-stirring, short martini glass!

This is turning into a very expensive glass. I’ll stop.

er… i got the lighter part all wrong… ceramic will definitely be lighter.. crap. proofread… then post.

If you stir vigorously enough you could smash a hole in the side and spill your hot tea! Nooooo, not one I’d use.

I disagree..many companies manufacturing nail polish have been using this technique..it however, doesn’t seem to work unless we change our drinking glasses into tumblers..but I am a sucker for novelty, I would be the first one vigorously shaking the drink to a false samba tune:)
