This is not a new concept. They were fairly common in the late 1950’s - early 1960’s (not in this color, as far as I know). They can sometimes be found in used furniture stores. They often had leaves that allowed the table to grow long enough to seat several people. Some had folding chairs that stored inside the cabinet. Great for small spaces or to free up the dining room for additional purposes.

The table seems twice as big as the cabinet it slides out of. Is it magic?
